Artist - Marco Cochrane
Role – Engineering & Fabrication
“The Bliss Project “, a series by Marco Cochrane features large-scale sculptures made of steel framework and stainless steel mesh. The series comprises three monumental female figures: “Bliss Dance”, “Truth is Beauty”, and “R-Evolution”. “Bliss Dance” can be found at the entrance to the Park MGM in Las Vegas, while “Truth is Beauty” is located in San Rafael, CA. Currently touring with the Transfix Art show, “R-Evolution” awaits her permanent home.
Collaborating with Articulated Artworks, Cochrane brought “R-Evolution” to life by animating the 48-foot sculpture. They utilized 12 motors and divided the artwork into multiple sections to create movement in the hips, chest, arms, and head, resulting in a slow breathing effect. The subtle yet captivating movement of each breath, has been slowed to match the scale of the sculpture relative to a person, adding to its mesmerizing nature.
